ViewsAbout the CigarchiveFrom The CigarchiveIn January 2008, the Cigarchive will be officially launched at www.Cigarchive.com as the Internet’s first online cigar encyclopedia. The Cigarchive is presently in Beta form. The purpose of The Cigarchive is to provide a wealth of continually-updated cigar-related information in a comprehensive cigar encyclopedia, created by and for cigar enthusiasts around the world. The Cigarchive is hosted by Cigar Family, and the Fuente and Newman families hope that you enjoy and will contribute content to this online cigar reference guide. The idea for The Cigarchive was conceived in 2007 when the Fuente and Newman families were upgrading the CigarFamily.com Cigar Lounge Online Forum. These upgrades unlocked the Cigar Lounge’s archive of over three million posted messages dating back to 1998. These newly accessible messages contained a wealth of cigar history. Realizing the value of this information, the Fuentes and Newmans looked for a place where this treasure trove of cigar knowledge could be collected online and shared with cigar enthusiasts around the world. Unable to find such a place, the Fuente and Newman families decided to launch a new site – The Cigarchive – to host a comprehensive online cigar encyclopedia. All across the Internet, volumes of cigar information are locked in disparate cigar message boards. This causes both the same questions to be asked time and again, and causes priceless cigar information to be lost in the depths of cyberspace. It is our goal for The Cigarchive to become a central repository for expansive, updated cigar information of all kinds. Driven by cigar enthusiasts like you, we envision The Cigarchive exploring the worlds of rolling cigars, growing and aging tobaccos, cigar countries, cigar makers, history of cigars, proper storage, where and how to enjoy fine cigars – and much more! Instead of asking a cigar-related question in one cigar online community that might result in incomplete answers in a few days, we hope that The Cigarchive will become a resource where cigar-related questions can be answered quickly, accurately, and comprehensively. Please help our knowledge base of cigar-information to grow by editing a page and contributing content. It is very easy to do! |
